 foolsFURY INTERNSHIPS

So, you found us. We are delighted you’re considering applying to be an intern. If you’re looking for an exciting opportunity which leaves a strong impression on you and your career long after the experience, look no further. 

This Summer, foolsFURY will be producing both online programming and working in person during a 9-day play development workshop for The Library Project in June.

Applications are considered on a rotating basis per foolsFURY staff discretion. This position is both remote and in-person in the San Francisco Bay Area

Detailed Job Description:
Working closely with the Artistic Director and Stage Manager to produce and execute an in-person rehearsal workshop. Tasks may include: schedule support, rehearsal documentation, taking notes, participating in artistic discussions, devising with the ensemble of artists, assisting with hospitality and helping to run the work in progress showing. Additional tasks may include attendance and note taking at board & staff meetings, data entry, digital assistance on zoom and more. The work will require both working collaboratively with others and working independently. Weekly check-in with your point person and weekly staff meetings are mandatory. Option to extend the internship, based on mutual agreement.

Administrative Skills:
Candidate owns their own computer, has a familiarity working with Google docs and sheets, and using Zoom video conferencing.

Artist Benefits:

  • Housing, if needed, for in-person rehearsals June 17-28, 2021

  • Community meals with the ensemble

  • $350 stipend

Internship Program Requirements & Details:

  • Minimum Commitment: May 25-July 1, 2021

    • Remote Work: May 25-June 16, 2021 (approximately 10 hours per week)

    • In-Person: June 17-28, 2021 (38 rehearsal hours and and 10 hours of production meetings)

  • Experience: Emerging artists with demonstrated work in the theater (in or out of an academic institution), 2-5 years of experience

Ensemble Experience includes:

  • Working closely with an ensemble where your voice matters

  • Full access to foolsFURY industry discussions and gatherings

  • Participation in the foolsFURY ensemble creation process

  • Participation in foolsFURY’s company retreat

  • ­Personal mentorship with company members
