A Brave Space. We welcome all the ways you identify and encourage you to bring your whole self into the room. Interns are considered part of the company for the duration of their internship. Interns are integrated into all facets of production, training and day-to-day management of running a theater ensemble. We value discourse and encourage you to have a voice in the room.

Ongoing Relationships:  We consider our interns a vital part of foolsFURY’s growth and strive to maintain connections with former interns.  Many interns have gone on to work with foolsFURY professionally or have created their own work in community with other former foolsFURY interns or members.

Participate in exciting projects! This Fall foolsFURY will be producing our inaugural online convening, BUILD from Here: The Future of Ensemble Theater September 12 & 13th, and we’ll be mounting online works in progress for a new ensemble play with Katie Pearl, working title THE LIBRARY PROJECT .

Fall Intern Overview:

This year’s season of work and training relies on interns to be flexible and open to the various ensemble production opportunities that may arise with each project. Bring your area of training and also get ready to learn new ones! Interns may be sitting in rehearsals, assisting with board meeting set-up, reaching out to engage community partners for specific projects, helping set up tech for a performance or offering ideas and helping devise a show we’re developing. The work will require both working collaboratively in video chat meetings and  working independently.

We are looking for curious, passionate people who are interested in learning a variety of skills and are also willing to contribute their ideas. In addition to general duties, you may have a specific focus, such as: technical event production, broadcast production assistant, fundraising event planning, marketing, social media, digital documentation, outreach and engagement.

Internship Program Requirements:

  • Duration: Now through December 15, 2020. Preference will be given to applicants willing to commit through December 15th.

  • Age: At least 16 years or older

  • Weekly check-in with your point person.

  • Your Availability:  Must be available September 12 & 13th, 2020 and the first week and weekend in December. We require a minimum of 10 hours in August, September and November/December,  6-12 hours/week before shows with other multiple-day intensives of 3-5 days.

  • If you are in school, no worries! We can work with your schedule. Please include in your application any conflicts you may already know such as work, classes, etc. We expect all accepted applicants to carry out the entire length of the agreed-upon internship duration.
