FoolsFURY is committed to the ongoing process of undoing systemic racism, anti-Blackness and discrimination. We understand that trust is earned through actions that match our words. We are reckoning with the privilege and agency that our historically white-led organization has enjoyed for the last two decades and interrogating the oppressive systems this organization supported.
Lasting change is a long term process of transformation. To do that, we are committed to working towards a theater ecosystem in which racial justice is woven into all facets of our organization. We are implementing antiracist accountability measures that go beyond a statement of solidarity and outline achievable actions that can be measured by our artists, board, and audiences, (that means you.)
EDUCATE & ENGAGE:
FoolsFURY Commits to:
Iterative EDI training and cultural competency required for all staff and board members
Center antiracist practices in all artistic projects.
Continue to foster a culture of healthy dialogue in which disruption, interrogation, and dissent are welcome.
Continue to share antiracist informational resources with our greater community
Produce antiracist learning opportunities for the public
Continue to create long-lasting relationships with Black and POC theater makers, audiences, and organizational partners
Amplify antiracist practices of colleagues and organizations in the field
Actively take a trauma-informed lens to our programming and practices, take accountability for our actions, and actively seeking to reduce harm.
SHARE, YIELD & CEDE POWER:
FoolsFURY Will:
No longer gather white dominant artistic or administrative teams.
Amplify marginalized voices, stories and bodies, moving towards integrated diversity of BIPOC leaders including directors and writers
Continue to hire BIPOC leadership and internally develop BIPOC company members for leadership positions

Continue to hire BIPOC designers, technicians, stage managers, and consultants
DISRUPT & REDIRECT
FoolsFURY Will:
Interrupt systemic oppression when we see it in the moment
Vet our vendors (banks, printers, restaurants, etc) to assure they align with our values
Support BIPOC businesses wherever possible
Make our finances transparent by posting our 990s annually on our website and practicing financial transparency with artists.
